VISION & MISSION

Our Vision

To become a center that effectively manages distance education processes at regional and national levels based on communication and information technologies, in accordance with the universal and institutional identity of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences.

Our Mission

To deliver educational programs through distance education methods using information and communication technologies at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, making education accessible to everyone, anytime, beyond the campus and its boundaries.

 

Objectives of the Center

a) To carry out planning, programming, coordination, and implementation activities for distance education within all educational programs at the university, including associate, undergraduate, graduate, and lifelong learning programs, based on communication and information technologies.
b) To increase efficiency and disseminate knowledge to all audiences by ensuring the spread of higher education to new target groups.
c) To conduct research, development, and implementation studies and publish works related to distance education based on communication and information technologies.
d) To provide academic and technical support at all stages of the distance education system
e) To design any necessary software for the distance education system at the university or update existing software to meet requirements, and to conduct research on new learning systems, technologies, and applications, transforming them into learning materials.
f) To organize training sessions for students and faculty participating in distance education activities, enabling them to effectively and efficiently use distance education tools 
g) To organize distance education certificate programs.
h) To establish cooperation within the university, between universities, and with national and international institutions, assist with distance education needs and requests, and support courses offered at the university by developing e-learning-based courses and programs in associate, undergraduate, graduate, and adult education.
i) To conduct research, development and organization studies on distance education for all academic and administrative units within the university. 
j) To contribute to the development of distance education systems by adapting training programs of public and private sector institutions to e-learning environments.
k) To take necessary measures to ensure that all administrative, technical, and academic activities related to the uninterrupted operation of distance education at the university are carried out in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.
l) To ensure the smooth operation and management of the teaching-management system software used for distance education, and to update the distance education system according to evolving technologies.
m) To develop and implement internet-based teaching materials for courses, seminars, or training programs conducted as part of distance education.
n) To develop solutions for establishing distance education systems in different units or other universities, or providing such services using the university's infrastructure, offering products and consultancy services, and transferring knowledge to relevant institutions and organizations.
